I grew up in a musical household with two older brothers, listening to mostly rock orienteded music and (English) brassband music.

As a result, me and my brothers were playing two different instruments. My brothers keys/trombone and guitar/tuba and I chose the bassguitar and euphonium (tenor tuba).

After playing in the National Youth Wind Orchestra for a couple of years playing challenging pieces (Sjostakovitsj, Mahler, Barber etc.), I quit playing euphonium. During that time I started at the conservatory Groningen studying bassguitar where I graduated in 1998.

Thanks to the VSB scholarship I also had the chance to study in New York with the great John Patitucci and Lincoln Goines.

Since then, my playing field is in theatre music productions, orchestras, musical productions and with a wide variety of Dutch artists on album/single recordings, concerts, events, radio- and TV shows.
